Rupayan North South City Agreement Signing: Rupayan City, Shatotto, and ArchiCenter Sdn Bhd

Rupayan City is set to build the country’s first smart-gated community under a project titled “Rupayaan North South City” in the Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital.

Local architectural firm Shatotto and Malaysian architectural firm ArchiCenterSdn Bhd have been associated with the consultancy of this mega project.

Rupayan Group’s Co-Chairman Mahir Ali Khan Ratul and Shatotto principal architect Professor Rafiq Azam and Dr Tan LokeMun of ArchiCenter Malaysia signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at a ceremony held at Rupayan City in the capital’s Uttara on Sunday.

Rupayan Group Vice Chairman Ali Akbar Khan Ratan, Rupayan City Uttara CEO M Mahbubur Rahman, and Rupayan North South City Project Implementation Committee Chairman Brigadier General (Retd) Md Abdul Hamid were present, among others, in the event.

In light of this agreement, Shatotto and ArchiCenter will provide all types of design-related services, including master plans, architectural structural, MEB, landscaping, and lighting, for Rupayan North South City to build a state-of-the-art smart city.

Architect RafiqAzam said, ‘The nature is facing disastrous impacts due to overdevelopment. We have to develop infrastructure in a planned manner. If we can develop an area in this manner, we can keep some open spaces for our future generation. Rupayan City is doing this right. I can say without reservation that ‘Rupayan North South City Project’ will help to develop a wealthy  generation and the generation will be an asset for the country.’ 

Architect Dr. Tan LokeMun said that the new city will be the first smart city, and with the contract with Rupayan, a history will be written for the housing sector.

Vice Chairman of Rupayan Group Mahir Ali Khan Ratul said, ‘The government has declared that the country will be a developed one by 2041.

The ‘Rupayan North South City Project’ is being implemented with this aim in mind. In the smart megacity, both locals and foreigners will reside because we have engaged foreign architects with our designers in the dream project.”
